Trying new things.

Oh hello.
Yes. I'm back from my extended holiday.

Lots of things have changed for me in the past two weeks or so.
I have now moved house (yay!) which has mainly been the cause for my absence - who knew how time consuming and tiring it really is to get things perfect?

I also decided to give up my job, without another one lined up. I was given a free pass on rent until I got another one, but the idea of not having my own money to spend on what I liked was absolutely terrifying. 10 days after my last shift, which was this Thursday just gone, I went for an interview for another job and find out I got it yesterday. Result!

So in the spirit and change and trying new things, me and my friend Rohma took a trip into Oxford on Wednesday, to go to a little patisserie called Gatineau that sells macaroons because I had never tried them before. They. Were. Heaven.
I wanted to savour them but they were so tasty. I have told all my family to just buy my birthday presents from there. (Is that bad?)

We then walked further into Oxford and decided to take a trip to Yo! Sushi. Neither of us had ever tried sushi either, so it was a completely new experience. The whole idea behind the restaurant still fascinates me, and I was a little too obsessed with the button that calls over the waitress... hmm.
Turns out, as a very picky eater and someone who hates different textures when I eat foods, I'm not the biggest sushi fan, but I love their Miso Soup.

Have you tried anything new lately? What's your
opinion on sushi? Let me know below!

  1. I tried Thai for the first time about 2 weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm also not a fan of sushi and I've never had macaroons either. I think it's great to keep trying new things though!

    1. I agree! It's fun to keep things interesting and step outside of our comfort zones - even if it's something as simple as trying sushi or thai food!
